About
Jason graduated from Red Mountain High School in Mesa, Arizona in 2004 and thereafter attended The University of Arizona. During his freshman year at Arizona, Jason walked onto the football team as a Quarterback. In 2008, he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Communications. Following graduation, he moved back to Southern California and earned his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego.
While in Law School, Jason worked as a certified legal intern for the Appeals, Writs and Trials Division of the California State Attorney General’s Office, where he conducted legal research and wrote appellate briefs for the Fourth Appellate District. He also performed five oral arguments in the Fourth District of the California Courts of Appeal. Prior to the Attorney General’s Office, Jason worked as a legal intern for the Tort Litigation Division of the Office of the County Counsel for San Diego County, where he assisted with compliance, discovery and oral argument preparation for Ninth Circuit hearings. Jason was also on the dean’s list and served as the President of the Moot Court Honor Society. He competed in the Cardozo Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition as well as the American College of Trial Lawyers Moot Court Competition.
Jason graduated from Thomas Jefferson a semester early, passed the February 2011 Bar Exam, and began working as a litigation associate for Reback, McAndrews, Kjar, Warford & Stockalper on June 1, 2011. Jason worked for RMKWS for almost five years to the day before joining a large civil litigation practice in Downtown Los Angeles at Sedgwick. Unhappy with the big firm life, on a fortuitous day in November 2016, Jason called a plaintiff’s attorney that he had a tried a case against the year prior. That attorney was Sean Burke. Unbeknownst to Jason at the time, his phone call to Mr. Burke that day would forever alter his career trajectory and life.
In 2017, Jason joined the Law Offices of Sean M. Burke, an exclusive plaintiff’s only medical malpractice firm. While working for Mr. Burke, Jason served as lead or co-lead trial counsel on over ½ dozen trials and arbitrations. In 2019, Mr. Burke made Mr. Argos his law partner, which led to the formation of Burke | Argos, Trial Attorneys.
In 2022, after Mr. Burke announced his plans to become a full-time mediator, the time came for Jason to join Nick and Jesse in their pursuit to become the top personal injury firm in Orange County. On August 18, 2022, Jason started at Kohan & Bablove in the role of Senior Trial Counsel specializing in catastrophic personal injury, birth injury, and wrongful death.
Jason is admitted to practice before all courts in California and Minnesota. He is extremely active in the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) and the Minnesota Association of Justice. Jason is also a member of the Executive Committee for the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA).
