Biography:
Gary A. Dordick, the founder of Dordick Law Corporation is a trial attorney specializing in plaintiff jury trials with over 150 Jury trials in his career. Mr. Dordick went directly from high school to law school, never attending college. He put himself through a four-year evening program while working at a law firm, starting as a file room clerk. Immediately after passing the bar, Mr. Dordick opened his own law firm, initially without any employees. Today, the Dordick Law Corporation has three locations, 56 employees, 16 associate attorneys, including Michelle, Dylan, and Taylor, his three adult children, and his wife, Nava, a law student and the firm’s CFO. Mr. Dordick is also on the executive board of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), Los Angeles chapter, and will be ABOTA’s incoming Vice President/President 2025. He is an Emeritus member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) Board of Governors. He is CAALA’s 2001 Trial Lawyer of the Year, an award he was subsequently nominated for an unprecedented eleven times. He is also Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) 2009 Trial Attorney of the Year. In 2023, Mr. Dordick was inducted into the CAALA Hall of Fame. The Daily Journal announced Mr. Dordick as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in California in 2017, 2021, and 2022, one of the Daily Journal’s Top Plaintiff Lawyers in California for 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, and one of the Daily Journal’s Top Boutique Law Firms in California in 2023. He was Jury Verdicts Trial Lawyer of the Year. In 2016, he received the Loyola Law School Champion of Justice Award for his career achievements representing Plaintiffs. In 2015, he received the Civil Advocate Award from the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC). In 2003, he received the Bernard Jefferson Award, the University of West Los Angeles School of Law’s highest honor. Mr. Dordick is frequently invited to lecture on trial practice, ethics, and civility in the courtroom by CAALA Plaintiff’s Trial Academy, Brain Injury Association, Loyola Law School, Western Trial Lawyers Association,
Law-Di-Gras, ASCDC Annual Seminar, CAALA and CAOC annual conferences, Pepperdine Law School, and Southwestern Law School, to name a few. He secured some of the highest jury verdicts in numerous courthouses, including a record-breaking $2.28 billion dollar jury verdict in Riverside County in 2023 and a
$125 million dollar jury verdict in Ventura County in 2016. Mr. Dordick founded Dordick Trial College in Cabo San Lucas, B.C. that holds an annual trial school,
donating all proceeds to cancer research. In September 2023, Loyola Law School will rename its advocacy building to “The Dordick Family Trial Advocacy Building” in recognition of contributions made by Mr. Dordick for programs to increase diversity in the legal profession.
